From the Birch/Clear Jade Stefan Janoskis, to the White/Gum Kostons, the lighter colors are hitting hard for the Spring and Summer this year. We are now taking signups for Summer Skate School at Project 58. The cost is only $125/week ($100 for each subsequent week), and the benefits and experience is enormous. Any beginner to intermediate level skateboarder stands to gain a ton from our instructors, most of whom have been conducting our skate camps for years. I just wanted to take a moment and say what a tragic loss we all suffered today with the news that Adam Yauch of the Beastie Boys has passed away. It is highly likely that no group has had more airtime over the speakers in VU during our 20 year history, and I would be amiss if I didn’t mention the impact the Beasties had not only on our store, but also our scene & our industry in general. I can only assume that MCA is amusing the gods with his sharp wit and raspy voice as I type this. RIP Adam Yauch, aka MCA. – Todd
